I love watches. I’ve lost count of just how many I have. A lot of them have been presents and others I’ve bought myself. I should become a watch hobbyist. I have an old watch that belonged to my grandmother. It’s marked, on the inside of the watch, HH Chatelain Swiss. It’s also marked 15 Jewels. She kept it in a purple velvet box and that’s where I keep it too. I’ve had watches that hung on chains around my neck and at one time I had a watch that I wore on my finger. That one was great until I forgot to take it off before I put my hands in water! That was the end of that one.
I was reading a watch article over at Elizabeth’s blog. Her Grandpa collected pocket watches.
I got a lot of things that belonged to my Grandmom and my uncle after my uncle died, including that watch. I have several pieces of my grandmom’s jewelry. I wore her wedding ring on my right hand at my wedding. I found out, after looking closely at the ring, that my hubby and I got married the same day as my grandmom and grandpop. Several years later I found out the my great grandmom and grandpop were married that same day as well. 3 generations – same wedding date. It wasn’t planned that way because I didn’t remember what day my grandmom and grandpop got married.

That’s a nice coincidence, with the wedding date. Sometimes the weirdest things happen to people. What’s for sure – these weird coincidences have their own intrinsic meaning.
Anthony: Yes they do.
both of my grandparents were engaged on the same day!
Great story here, i just think that the coincidence it is a sign or something, i don’t know, just saying my opinion. And i hope the best for your watch collections.
Oh how sweet!
Heroes: Thank you.
A co-incidence spanning three generations is just great… congratulations..
and sorry for your poor watch that you forgot to remove before putting hands in water.
However such problems have no control. I spoil my digital thermometer in attempting to wash its tip as I used to do with old type thermometers, and got water inside it… good that it was not something of antique value
Jalaj: Thank you.
