04 Nov 2007 Work phones

Talkswitch PhonesWe used to have good phones at work, but in August…. right in the middle of our busy time, the company I work for switched phone systems. Now we get dropped calls, lots of static and a bunch of other problems. They should have gotten a system like Talkswitch. Talkswitch is a great phone system for small business and it has the latest VoIP technology.

This type of phone system is good for many different types of businesses such as retail, wholesale, medical, professional, service, engineering, construction, real estate, finance, IT, software and consulting. Neobits has IP products that include an array of IP phones, gateways, as well as Digium boards. I wish my company had checked into them before purchasing the system they have now. If they had maybe some of these utility companies wouldn’t have hung up on me because they couldn’t hear me!

Neobits is an authorized distributor of over 15 different brands of phone systems that are designed for businesses that have between 2 and 250 users. The brands they offer include Avaya, Panasonic, NEC, Talkswitch, Allworx, Epygi and more. Neobits has over 3,000 customers nationwide and has the ability to perform local installation services in every zip code. Neobits offers dial tone and broadband internet in all states.

04 Nov 2007 Moving…

No, I’m not moving. I’m moving my blogs to a new host. The host I’m currently using isn’t very helpful. A couple months ago things started getting very slow when you click on a button to submit *I’m sure you’ve noticed when you’ve tried to comment*. The host told me that there was nothing wrong on their end. I’ve gone to another bloggers blog that uses the same host and it seems she has the same problem. It takes over 30 seconds for anything to happen.

I paid for 2 years with this host, I hope they refund quickly. With this new host, I’m going to do a month to month until I’m satisfied with them. I need to do something. I’m afraid I’m losing commenters for this reason. I’m waiting for my account info to come from them. I just hope I’m not jumping from the frying pan into the fire.

04 Nov 2007 Bacon cooker

Microwave Bacon CookerI found a new gadget that’s supposed to cook bacon in the microwave without making a big mess. This microwave bacon cooker is a fully enclosed cooker. It’s the only totally enclosed unit on the market. I’ve never seen anything like it before. I tried it and it does cook the bacon without making a mess. It has 3 pieces: the body of the cooker, the vanes that you put the bacon on and a lid. It’s very simple to use, I had no trouble getting the bacon on the vanes and getting it assembled to put into the microwave.

InstructionsIt comes with a great instruction sheet with pictures. It’s dishwasher safe so that makes it easy to clean when you are done using it. It was easy to load the bacon and assemble the unit. It “just” fit into my microwave.

Bacon resultIt does what it’s supposed to do but I just wasn’t impressed with how the bacon turned out. It wasn’t done to my liking. I guess I’ll have to play with the cooking time. I had 6 slices of bacon and cooked them for 30 seconds a slice, like the directions said but they were not very crispy. I like my bacon crispier than that. This looked almost raw. My microwave is a 1700 watt oven so it’s not like it’s a low wattage one.
