I just got home from work. I’m working extra hours to make up for the hours I missed Wednesday, I was sick, and yesterday. I got a very nice surprise when I got home. All of the burnt carpet outside my door is gone and a nice replacement mat was waiting for me. The siding has been replaced and painted. The only signs left of the fire is the sooty ceiling. They even swept away the spiderwebs which could been seen so clearly after the fire.
I want you to meet someone.. errr.. something. Betsy is new best friend. Actually she belongs to hubby. But now her new home is right next to my front door. She’s a nice pump action shotgun. If someone so much as attempts to rattle my doorknob all I have to do is pick up Betsy and slide the slide. It makes such a distinctive sound that anyone trying to get in will know they are about to get a very uncomfortable kind of colon cleanse. I’m not afraid to use it!
I managed to fix my blinds that the firemen messed up. A little clip popped off and I just popped it back on. Now we’re good to go.

How much longer are you stuck living there? Are you considering moving when your lease is up?
Lisa: I’m afraid I’m stuck here for another year. I had just signed a renewal on my lease a couple weeks ago. I asked today about getting out of the lease and the rental agent didn’t sound too promising about letting me out of it.
Heh, I like Betsy. She seems like a good friend to have.
I should post some pics of our home security as well. Keep meaning to do it.
I’m glad everything has been replaced and looking better. It’s a shame you can’t get out of your lease, although really, you should be entitled to after that bit.
