14 Dec 2008 Haven’t even started
 |  Category: Shopping  | Tags: , , ,

I wish I could be like other people who start their Christmas shopping months ahead of time. But I’m not and I haven’t even started yet. Yeah… I know I need to get on the ball. I’m still trying to decide what to get everyone. Do I get some pricey green gifts, gift cards, or what?

I love Christmas. I just hate the shopping part of it. I can’t even send anything to Andi yet because she doesn’t have an address “over there” yet so she won’t even get her gift until Christmas is long over with. I think that’s a lot of my problem this year. I’m just not feeling Christmas. I don’t know why they couldn’t have sent them after Christmas… why did they have to send them now.. a couple weeks before Christmas?? *sigh*

I am totally with you on this one, I always leave it till the last minute to do all my shopping and then it takes me twice as long because nothing is in stock! My tip is do your shopping online and then you have to do it relatively early for it to have time to be delivered.

Yeah, it’s already the 15th of December. I never start my Christmas shopping until the week before Christmas and you are right…Christmas is cool, the shopping sucks – even for a shopoholic like myself LOL

I just feel so much to your entry because same as you, I don’t get to spend Christmas with my family :) Although I am not in the army situation, I think I can relate to some of your feelings, if not all. You are very string, by the way. Being an army Mom is tough

Tell me about it Charlotte! I’m sitting here wondering where the heck the time has gone and wondering if it is ever gonna slow down! Just when I get one project/job/whatever completed it feels like another 12 things go to replace it. I’m due for a vacation, a nice long vacation, my goal is next year to be able to take a four month long vacation in Puerto Vallarta. Wish me luck

I also wait till the last minute to go shopping. I, for the most part, hate having to do all the shopping before Christmas. I have relatives in the Philippines so sending a package late means it will get there three months after Christmas, so being late to send it is a bad idea in my case. Charlotte, I think Andi will still be very happy to receive your gift, even if it is after Christmas. I wish you the best always.

  5. I hate the service when it comes to how they treat their soldiers..there is no consideration for them. My grandson is able to talk to me through email and Yahoo..I love it hope Andi can do the same for you when she gets settled. I thought it was free (it dam well should be) and its not these kids have to pay hundreds of dollars..the dam government makes me sick. I’ll pray for your daughter…hugs for the holidays

You’d actually be surprised to know how many people do actually leave their shopping until the last minute! I work at the checkouts in a shop, and it’s a very common question that I ask around this time of the year, and I don’t think I’ve actually had one person that has replied with “I’ve done all my shopping”.

So be glad to know that you’re not actually on your own ;) hehe.

Please don’t get me started on this subject. I’m spending way too much money way too fast. I think I’m getting whipblash.

I recently moved to Chicago from Virginia, and I went back to visit for the holidays. I didn’t want to pack everyone’s gifts…so I had to wait until three days before Christmas to shop. It worked out really well. I had a whole month to make a very careful list of everything I wanted to buy. AND I got all the great deals :)
