drawerbugzipMy mother used to say to me “night, night.. don’t let the bedbugs bite”. As a child I never knew that bedbugs were real. I never got bit by anything other than a stray mosquito while I was sleeping. Now I now that bedbugs can be a real problem but what I didn’t realize that bedbugs can be “transported” from place to place.

If a person has bedbugs at home and then stays in a motel room those bedbugs and hitch a ride then decide to stay and infest a motel room. Even though motel rooms can look clean.. bedbugs could be hiding there unseen.

I got some things in the mail to review to help keep bedbugs from coming home with you. They are plastic, zippered bed bug encasement bags that are used as soon as you get to a motel room to put in a drawer to put your clothes in. Slip your suitcase or garment bag into one to keep the critters out of your clothes. When you are ready to leave the motel remove your belongings from the bags and leave them there to be disposed of. Do not bring the used bags home with you or you risk infesting your home with bedbugs.

These bags are a nice smooth plastic with sturdy zippers to keep the bugs out. You could also just use them at home, new ones of course, to keep dust, pet hair, etc off clothing you have stored in your closet.

I won’t be doing any traveling for awhile but I may use these bags in my closet to keep the clothes I have on the shelves free of dust and cat hair.
