28 Aug 2009 Let the packing begin

We haven’t found a new place to move to yet but I started packing this morning. I figured I should start packing up stuff that I know I won’t be using for awhile.

I have a few boxes and decided to start on my clutter china cabinet. I had the door opened and was taking stuff out, wrapping it and putting it into a box when JoJo jumped up and started taking a stroll through the cabinet… meowing the whole time. If my batteries, for my camera, had been charged I would have taken a picture.

That cabinet hasn’t been opened since I got JoJo so I guess she was curious as to what was in there.. She’s such a goofball.

I heard from Andi this morning too and her and the baby are doing fine and could possibly be going home tomorrow.

Introducing Benton Jacob. He joined our family at 1:17 am on 8/27/09. He weighed 6 lbs 9 oz and is 20 inches long. Mom (Andi) and baby (Benton Jacob) are doing just fine. Andi had texted me at 8:45 pm last night and said her contractions were 7 minutes apart and if they didn’t get better by 9:30 pm she was going to the hospital. I didn’t hear from her again until I got a text just after 3 am telling me he was born.

Andi was supposed to go into the hospital on Friday to have him by c-section but that happened early this morning instead.

It funny how sometimes someone’s life ends and a new life begins. It’s just a shame Dawn didn’t make it to see Benton. But you all can see him below. He looks a lot like Kody (Kody was the baby of the family).

What else does the world want to throw at me? This morning my sister-in-law, who had cancer, passed away.

Yesterday it was the realtor’s letter. I’ve gotten that straightened out but will be moving ASAP… we just have to find a place. I applied for a job this morning. I got Andi’s stuff safely into storage. Andi is due to have her baby on Friday by c-section.

I just got a certified letter in the mail from our real estate agent telling me the landlord is not going to renew or extend our lease. We have to be out by the end of the month. I don’t know what I’m going to do!! I haven’t told hubby yet… he’s at work and I don’t want to upset him there.

This sucks… this sucks.. this sucks…..

I’ve been trying for months to sell some truck accessories and parts my hubby has for a 1972 Chevy pickup truck. I guess no one is even restoring old vehicles in this economy. I can’t even give the darn things away. I have them all packed nicely in a box and are under my coffee table in the living room.

If you bought these new at today’s prices they would cost you about $800. I’m selling them for $500 or best offer. I haven’t even had one call on them. I had them on EBay and on Craigslist.

I just want to clear out the precious items junk around here and make a little money to help out. I did manage to sell a 1940′s floor console radio. I wanted $100 for it but managed to get $60. I’ve had a couple calls on the 1950′s Dumont console TV that I’ve had for sale too. I’m waiting to see if anyone shows up to look at it that said they would… we’ll see.

I’m about to get off my fanny here and get some housework done but I just don’t really feel like it. I need to vacuum and it would be so nice if we could put in a central vacuum motor then I’d just have to plug in a hose in whatever room I want to vacuum. I really hate dragging my vacuum from room to room, not having enough cord and have to move it from plug to plug.

Anyway.. I’ve been so down that I let dishes pile up in the sink and on the counter. I have a dishwasher but it’s full of clean dishes that I have to take out and put away. I need to clean out the old food out of the fridge too and throw that away and take out the trash. I’m usually right on top of this stuff but when you’ve been beaten down to the lowest you can go you just don’t feel like doing anything at all.

Today is a good day and I’m going to take advantage of it before something else comes along and sends me back down in to the depths of despair again.

I got a text from Andi last night. She was having contractions so that means grandbaby #6 will be coming soon. I talked to her again this morning and she’s still having contractions but they aren’t as regular as they were last night.

He’s not due to make his appearance until the 31st but all of her kids have come before their due date. I’m actually surprised he’s stayed in as long as he has. Tayler was 3 1/2 weeks early and the other two were early too.

I was going to send her some money to come home for the weekend but it might be a good idea if she didn’t travel right now. We don’t want to risk her going into labor during the 4 hour drive.

UPDATE: Andi is going to risk it and come down this weekend. It’s our family reunion and she doesn’t want to miss it. She’s missed the last couple of them. Her contractions stopped completely and she feels fine. Let’s keep our fingers crossed!
