I finally found a new theme for my blog. What do you think? I had to get rid of the Army colors since the Army has pissed of both Andi and I for a long time.
I think the colors are calming and soothing. I just have to fix a couple things but I think I’m quite happy with this one.
On to other things… We are still looking for a place to live. We went to see one today that they want $925 a month for but…. It was the tiniest house I’ve ever seen. I don’t think my stuff would fit in that place. It’s just a little crackerbox house and they’re nuts if they think they’re going to get that much a month for it. It comes with a washer and dryer but no refrigerator and there is another small house, on the same lot, that is less than 5 feet away. Scratch that one off the list.
I’ve been doing a lot of packing and cleaning so as soon as we find a place we can just move on out.

The new theme looks great! I like it.
It’s amazing how the cost of living differs in various parts of the country. We’re paying $1075 a month for a small apartment in a ‘burb north of Boston, and that is CHEAP for this area!
But that house sounds smaller than our apartment, and I bet they will have to lower the price eventually. Still another house just five feet away has no appeal, either.
Hope you can find a nice place that you can afford, and soon!

Thanks Christine!!
Add me to those who like the new theme. I’m glad to see you’re around and about online, and I hope that you find a new place that suits you soon. $925 is pretty cheap for houses in our area too. Though a lot of the apartments have gone down very much lately, and have move in specials. Still we used to have a 2/1 for $725 per month, and are now paying just under $1200 for a 3/2 (that includes insurance and escrow for taxes the actual mortgage is about $875) that we’re on a mortgage with and we have a very large yard, which is why we decided to do this rather than, at the time, renting another place for about a grand.
It’s a tough road however you go about it, and I know how expensive your area is. My BIL lives in Staten Island and he and his new wife and trying to find a place around there to buy. They said one place that was reduced they were $900 a month shy of affording ;_; and they both have very good jobs. Makes me glad that we don’t live up there, despite all the things that both hubbie and I dislike about Florida.
I’m rambling. Best wishes on your housing search. Packing and cleaning are never easy.

Thanks Faith. We’d love to be able to buy but that’s not possible right now.. renting is the only way. We will find something.. I just hope it’s really soon.
I do like the site it looks great and I hope your able to find everything you need for your family.
It is awful that they made your daughter wait to get paid.
