My mom had to go into the hospital a couple days ago. She was having belly pains and other problems. She was diagnosed with diverticulitis. Today she was released from the hospital into the nursing home we were trying to get her into.
When she was brought into her room on the stretcher she had a big smile on her face. She was so happy to be there. That makes me feel good that she likes this place because her first reaction was absolutely no to a nursing home when it was first brought up. She had been on a tour of the place a couple months ago and really liked it.
I don’t feel bad about putting her there. Now she is just a few minutes from most of her family instead of almost an hour away.

I don’t get why a lot of people hate nursing homes. A lot of the times families simply don’t have the time to care for their elders so nursing homes are necessary to give seniors the attention they need.
All the best to your mom!
I can still remember trying to handle the “therapy” home for my Mom. Unfortunately she did not get there but that is another story.
I was unprepared for the change of going from daughter to parent of my Mom. But we do the best we can do.
It sounds like you made the right choices and I hope she will continue to improve.
Thanks for sharing,
Sandy

Good day to you,
My heart goes out to the people serving in the armed forces and their families. I was in the military for three years serving two years in Texas and one year overseas in Germany at a place called “The Rock” which was about 60 kilometers north of Frankfurt. I know what it feels like to be away from family and friends, and back in my day (1973 – 1976) we only had snail mail for correspondence.
I now use what is called Video Email which is a great personal way to send emails. It’s simple and easy to use. You just set in front of your computer, log in to the software which activates your camera & microphone then click on the “Record” button and start talking .Once you have finished with your video you click on the “Stop” button, type in the email address and send it. It’s really that simple! They get a high quality video of you and/or your family in just a few short minutes instead of just a written email. Don’t get me wrong, you can still write an email and send attachments along with the video but the added video is wonderful. This would have made my tour away from family so much easier if we only had it back then.
Just like any email the person it’s being sent to doesn’t need to be online when you send it. Your personal video is waiting for them in the in box and like any email it can be viewed as many time’s as you like. It’s really nice because in those lonely moments they can just re-open any of the video emails and watch you, their kids, pets…. over and over again. This is great for sharing those special times in life such as holidays, birthday’s and anniversaries when your miles apart.
We use Video Email all the time and really love it. We even use it in our business. If you or someone you know might be interested in learning more about this great new technology please contact us at gary.arlene@comcast.net or give us a call at 630-823-8545 and well send a Video Email to you so you can experience for yourself this great product.
PS: Being in the Army for three years I know the financial challenges that family’s can face. An added bonus with this product is there is a financial opportunity here to make an additional income as well.
Sincerely,
Gary Arnold
