Andi has been at her new job almost a week now and she really likes what she’s doing. She says it’s so much better than the last place she worked at.

It’s not quite what she was doing in the Army as a medic but it’s the closest thing she could find. The 12 hour days aren’t too awful bad either.

The best part is that she isn’t smoking much at all. The hospital does not allow it’s employees to smoke anywhere on the hospital grounds.. even in their own cars.

Benton has gotten used to her and Drew not being here for hours and hours and is almost a pleasure to be with all day long.

It’s Time For A Do-Over

Andi is finally divorced for the 2nd time. Now she and her fiancee can begin planning their wedding. I know they have been making some plans and looking at different types of rings.

They are trying to decide whether to go for palladium rings or cobalt chrome wedding bands. Personally I like the palladium rings.

Andi had wanted to have a big wedding with all the trimmings this time because she didn’t have that the other 2 times but they decided to use the money that would be spent on a flashy wedding for other things, like a place to live, etc.

I don’t know where they will have the wedding as they are talking about moving back to Texas again real soon. If they decide to have it in Texas I don’t know if I’ll be able to make it down to the wedding and that makes me sad.

I had a wedding with all of the trimmings and I kind of wish I just had a simple, casual wedding. It would have a lot less hassle and more fun. I also wish I had waited a couple years or so to marry. We got married 2 days after graduating high school. We were so young but so much in love. And as rumors go they flew then. The rumor went around that we “had to get married” and people were shocked when they found out I wasn’t pregnant when we got married.

We had our first son almost 2 years later and I got asked “where is the other baby” and I would tell them that he was my first baby and there weren’t any others. That’s how I found out about the rumor that was going around.

But now that I’ve gotten off track let me try to jump back on again before I finish this post… I will wish Andi and her fiancee all the best and help them the best I can no matter what they decide to do or where they decide to get married. Hopefully I will be able to be there to share in their happiness.

So much going on

There has been a lot going on here lately. Andi, Drew and the baby moved to Pennsylvania to live with Drew’s dad a few weeks ago. Just about a week ago Andi and the baby showed up here unexpectedly because the cable and internet got shut off up there for non-payment. Andi came here because she needed to do her school work and needs the internet for that.

They were going to go back to PA yesterday but on Sunday night Drew called and wanted Andi to come and pick him up because he and his dad got into a big fight and his dad wanted him out. So now they are living here again, temporarily, until they can find a place of their own nearby.

They are looking for jobs and so am I (still). Hopefully we will all find jobs soon.

It’s been almost 3 weeks now

Andi and the baby are finally coming home from Texas. They are leaving there on Thursday. They will have been gone 3 weeks tomorrow. I really miss them and can’t wait to see them… especially Benton. As much as that little boy gives me a headache sometimes I can’t wait until he comes in the door.

It’s been quiet here and I really do enjoy my peace and quiet but I can’t wait for a little noise again. I can’t really call JoJo’s meowing at times noise… she’s just talking or voicing her opinion.

The silence is deafening

Andi and Benton are still in Texas. Andi doesn’t know exactly when she’ll be back. It’s gotten to the point where I’m not really enjoying the peace and quiet anymore. I miss them both.

Benton is having a blast going to the park/playground though. It’s good for him to get outside and play. He loves the swings and running around. Andi put up pictures on Facebook and it looks like he’s grown in the time they’ve been gone.

I hope they come back soon. I know they won’t be here long when they do come back. Drew should be with them and they will be moving to Pennsylvania with his dad. They could stay here if I had more than a one bedroom condo.

Disaster area

My place is a disaster area right now or at least it should be declared one. I have a 17 month old disaster making machine running around all day causing chaos. I’m so worn out from chasing him around and trying to keep him out of things he shouldn’t be getting into. I swear I need to find a way to fit myself with rechargeable batteries so I can just keep going like the Energizer bunny.

Every time I turn my back Benton knocks over my chair, in front of the computer, and pulls open the drawer and takes my calculator and runs away with it. He seems to think that everything is his and he can take whatever he wants. Boy is he going to be shocked when he finally figures out that everything in the world doesn’t belong to him.

Have I said just how much I love my daughter? I say this because she did her taxes and is getting a nice refund and she decided she’s going to get herself a new laptop and she’s going to buy me a new computer tower too! Isn’t she just the best daughter around? I sure think so.

There are a million other things she could do with that money but she’s thinking of her mommy. She will be getting stuff for herself and for Benton too. I am so lucky to have a daughter like her.

Oh wow… I’m watching the Food Network and they have a show called Food Network Challenge and one of the competitors is from Egg Harbor Township and works in the Showboat Casino in Atlantic City. It’s such a small world.. Egg Harbor Township is just a few minutes away from here. That woman looks really familiar like I might have seen her around somewhere. I’m hoping she wins.

He’s a terror

Benton is becoming a little terror. He climbs up on the coffee table and no matter how many times you take him off and tell him no he just climbs right back up again and again. He gets behind the curtains on the sliding door and I swear one day he’s going to climb right up the curtains and use the curtain rod for a pull up bar.

He’s starting to get temper tantrums and fights Andi when she’s trying to get him to sleep. He’s started to smack at her and pull her hair. All we can say is the it’s a good thing he’s cute.

Now don’t get me wrong.. he’s not like this 24/7. He’s a sweetheart most of the times. He just has his moments where you just have to say “grrrrr”.

Disconnected

My niece called me a little while ago from her cell phone when all of a sudden I lost the call. I thought it was a bad connection on my end but what happened was she went to unplug her earphone and ended up disconnecting me. I told her she needs to get some wireless headphones or a bluetooth so that doesn’t happen again.

She called me about my mom. She had just come from visiting her in the nursing home. She’s worried about my mom because she took money out of her account and gave it to my niece to buy her some new clothes. Mom really doesn’t need any clothes… she has plenty right now. My niece is afraid she’s going to take money out of her account and just hand it out to people who work in the nursing home. I really think she’s worrying too much.

Andi and job search

Andi has been looking for a job for about a year now and hasn’t had much luck. She has basically a medical resume since she was a medic in the Army but it hasn’t gotten her a job. You would think with all she did in the Army in Iraq, all that experience, she’d have no problem finding a job in the medical field but it hasn’t been that way.

Now she is going to school for medical billing and coding, her GI bill will pay for it. It’s going to take awhile for her to get her degree and her experience in the Army and Iraq does convert to credits for college so it won’t take her quite as long to finish.

Hopefully after she finishes she’ll be able to finally find a job and be able to get off unemployment.
