I went shopping at Target this morning. They open at 8 am so I figured I’d go out and get a couple things. My underthings were falling apart so I got some new ones. As I was getting ready to check out I saw this 62 piece household tool kit for $20. I bought that too… no not for hubby.. I bought it for me! I like tools too.

Loyalty Program

The NewsRoom has a loyalty program for their members. A couple days ago I got an email saying I won a prize from the Loyalty Program. I got to pick from several prizes and I picked a 5 Quart Chrome Slow Cooker. I have a slow cooker, but it’s an old one and I can’t take the inside part out to wash it. That makes it hard to clean it. This new one has a removable insert that can be popped into the dishwasher. Easy peasy! I should be getting it within a couple weeks!

UPS Came Today

Remember how I posted this yesterday? It said on the receipt I got when I ordered my gift, on the 18th, that it would take 10-15 days to arrive. Well, I was sitting here doing things on the computer when there was a knock at the door. It was the UPS guy with a package for me. It was my beautiful new slow cooker!

Zoom

You’ve read a couple posts I’ve made about a photo contest. Those pictures in the posts were taken using a Canon film camera with a really nice zoom lens. That camera died and I really miss it. It took great pictures. Right now I have a Kodak EasyShare digital camera. It’s only a 2.0 mega pixel camera but it takes great pictures. What would make this one better is for it to be an SLR camera with a zoom lens.

I saw a great Canon with a zoom lens and it’s digital. It’s 10.1 mega pixels and it comes with 2 different lenses.

I also saw some really nice Nikon digital cameras too. I miss being able to take the super shots that I did with my old film camera. I love the way the backgrounds turned out with that camera. If you focused on the subject then the background would blur a bit and I just love how that looks. The subject is crisp and clear and the background is .. well.. the background.

I’d have to save quite a bit of money to get the camera I really want. Until then I’ll just have to make do with my Kodak digital.

Grandkids again

Andi sent me $450.00 to get the grandkids some school clothes and stuff. I’m taking them out tomorrow. We’re going to try out Kohl’s. I hear they are having a sale today and tomorrow. Perfect! I heard this from our resident workplace Kohl’s guru. Marie is always shopping at Kohl’s, so I asked her advice today and she told me all about the sales. I’m also going to buy myself a pair of shoes for work… flats or a small heel and a new winter jacket. My old jacket is white *stupid move* and will no longer come clean

This should be an interesting shopping trip. I’ve never taken the kids out shopping without another adult along. I hope I can keep my sanity! Anyway, after we get done I’ll bring the kids back here to sort their clothes into individual bags and take some pictures to send to Andi. I may or may not feed them too then take them back home. Maybe well get some McDonalds or Burger King. They’ll love that since their Dad doesn’t buy them the good stuff anymore. Be on the lookout for pictures sometime tomorrow!

I survived!

I went and spent a boatload of money at Kohl’s today… so much my card company called to make sure it was me who made those purchases! It was no more than 5 minutes after I left Kohl’s that my cell rang and the card company wanted to make sure I bought a boatload of stuff. Before Kohl’s I filled up the car, that was $25.00 and this morning I used the card too. I usually only use it about 3 times a week.. rarely 3 times in one day! I guess it set off red flags at Visa!

Anyway… the kids got a bunch of clothes and I got a new coat, a shirt and a pair of shoes. EVERYTHING was on sale! Every last thing I bought was on sale!! I’m happy about that. The only thing the kids didn’t get were custom pens. They should be pretty well set for school now!

We went to Burger King afterwards and the kids LOVED it. Below are some of the cutest things I got for the kids. Click on the pictures to see them full sized.

New Blinds

My new blinds I was waiting for were delivered yesterday and I was so happy to get them. Why, you might ask? See I had nothing to cover the window in my second bedroom except for a plaid, full sized sheet. It didn’t look the best from the outside or inside. In fact, it looked horrible. But I’ve lived with that since September 2006.

I decided since my lease was extended for another year, at no raise in rent, I’d get some Blinds for that window. I put them up this morning but not without a bunch of cursing and complaining. It wasn’t that the blinds were hard to put up, they were easy, it was the fact that there is metal around the windows in this place. I didn’t know there was metal there until I tried to screw in the screws for the brackets. I ended up taking a tiny Phillips screwdriver and using a hammer on it to poke through the metal. After I did that it was easy as pie to put those blinds up.

The only problem I had with the blinds themselves is there were no instructions included with the blinds. I went to the website and luckily they have full installation instructions on their site. I couldn’t figure out how to open the brackets to slide the blinds in. I got it figured out and the blinds are up looking pretty. I hung some pretty curtains too. It looks so much better now. I love my blinds. They were easy to order, easy to put up and they look GREAT!

Dog Tags – Again
