Mother nature must need to change her humidifier filters or turn it off completely because the humidity is horrible hear. It’s especially bad today because we had rain this morning and that just added to the moisture already in the air.

The heat wasn’t quite as bad today, it was below 100, but the humidity makes it feel hotter than what it really is.

They say the humidity makes your hair uncontrollable but that’s not the case for me. It doesn’t do a thing to my hair, it’s too thin. I wish my hair would curl in the humidity then maybe it would look thicker. But no… my hair is poker straight along with be so thin you can see my scalp through it.

…… the gorgeous weather I posted about in the previous post.. that is. Today was in the middle 90′s and the humidity is starting to creep back in.. YUK!! The temperatures are just going to get higher and higher for at least the next week and will end up in the 100′s. The humidity is going to be getting higher too.

Weather like this can make cars overheat and end up on the side of the road awaiting roadside assistance especially if they are sitting in traffic. The traffic will be bad, well it already has been bad since it’s the Fourth of July weekend.

I’m just glad we aren’t doing any traveling this weekend. We are staying at home and having a quiet holiday.

Bad mood

It’s not me that’s been in a bad mood.. Mother nature threw one hell of a hissy fit this past weekend. We had a hell of a Nor’easter again this weekend. We had one gust of wind that had to have been close to hurricane force. Luckily it hit the camper from the front and not the side. If it had hit from the side we might have gone tumbling across the yard and that wouldn’t have been good. As it was the camper rocked and rolled with that gust. It was downright scary.

A lot of people lost their electric but we were lucky and didn’t lose ours. A lot of trees came down in the area too. Yesterday morning we had a hellacious thunderstorm that scared poor JoJo half to death. Yesterday afternoon I went to go to Shoprite and couldn’t get up Second Ave because a tree was down across the road. I had to turn around and go a different way. I saw at least 3 or 4 trees down during my 5 minute trip.

We’ve had so much rain that there is flooding everywhere. We went past the local baseball/football fields and there is no way anyone could play any sports there right now. It looked like a big pond.

Now I have to get my stuff together and go do laundry. I was going to do it yesterday but Andi and Drew invited me to go to the Berlin Farmer’s Market with them and it was good to get out of the house and do something other than sit here or do laundry.

Weather has been so nice

Today the temperature got up to 63 degrees!! WooHoo… come on Spring! It was nice enough for hubby to get a few minor rv repairs done to the camper after work. Soon it will stay lighter longer because of the time change coming up.

I can’t wait for everything to green up and the flowers to start blooming. I just LOVE Spring.. it’s my favorite time of the year.

We are supposed to get some precipitation this weekend but it’s not going to be that nasty, 4 letter S-word that we’ve had so much of this winter!! I hope we’ve seen the last of that stuff for a good long time!

Bring it on warmth! I’m ready for you!!

Getting warmer

It’s finally starting to warm up here and hopefully there will be no more 4 letter S words in the weather forecast for the rest of this winter. I’ve had enough of looking at white stuff on the ground that has been there practically since the end of December.

I’m tired of having to take arthritis relief pills constantly because of the cold and nasty weather. In the Spring and Summer I only have to take them when it rains and I hope and pray that we don’t have really wet Spring and Summer. I’d love to feel halfway normal again.

I don’t feel too awful bad today. Right now it’s 47 degrees out (which will help get rid of all of this dirty white stuff) (I can’t even type that 4 letter S words without aching.. haha). It’s windy.. but March is a windy month and it’s starting out right on cue.

Soon I’ll be able to open windows in this camper during the day. I could probably do that now if it wasn’t so darn windy. The camper is swaying the gusts are so strong.

The day after

Hubby is out plowing again. He came home about 8:30 or so last night and went out again about 8 am. It’s now 1:30pm and he’s still out there.

I went out and cleaned off my car but that was as far as I could get. I can’t get to the drivers side of the car because of all of the snow and I don’t have a shovel. Hubby still has to finish plowing the driveway right behind my car so I can get it out. I’m glad I have enough stuff to last another day or two.

Enjoy the day after pictures below. The 1st 3 are the neighbors from yesterday… the 2 kids and parents. They built a snow fort out of snow and in the last one they built a snow slide. Now that looked like fun!

The ones below are from today when I was out cleaning off my car. A few show the camper covered in ice and the one showing the sky and trees. If you look closely at the trees you can see the snow blowing. I thought that was a neat shot!

Blizzard 2010

We are getting a blizzard. There is at least a foot of snow on the ground.. probably more (I didn’t go out to measure it). I got as far as opening the door and sticking the camera out to take some pictures. Enjoy the snow… I’m sure not! lol

Crazy times

We have a blizzard warning for later today through Saturday night and people are going crazy buying up everything in sight. We could have up to 2 feet of snow! Shoprite is jam packed and there isn’t a parking space to be found. Their POS systems must be going at a record rate.

I needed to go there today but decided to stay away. I’m not going into that store and fight all those people for 1 thing. JoJo is getting low on her food but I think there just might be enough to last through the weekend. If not I do have a can or two of canned food I can give her. I’m glad I got food on Tuesday!

Here comes summer

The sun came out and the humidity is rolling in. Summer has arrived. I know it’s the middle of July but it’s felt more like spring. The other day it was only in the 50′s when I woke up.

It’s breezy but also looks hazy outside. I had to put the air conditioning on because it was getting funky feeling in here. I loved being able to have the windows open. I loved the fresh air coming in and taking the funky air out.

I’d love to live somewhere where it’s comfortable all the time and I could just keep the windows open and forget about the air conditioning. That would be my perfect place to live. Is there such a place?

Spring in the air

Yesterday was absolutely gorgeous. The temperature got up into the 70′s! Just last week we were waiting for a huge snowstorm. Now the snow is gone except for the larger piles. It was so nice I opened the windows and it was like having several air purifiers going at once.

Today isn’t going to be quite as warm. It’s cloudy and supposed to be in the middle 60′s. I’ll take this weather, any day, over 20 degree temperatures! Soon the grass will turn green again and the leaves will start to bud. Then the flowers will start blooming too. Spring is my favorite season of all.
