New Theme… again!

I changed my theme… again. I used this on my travel blog and liked it so much I adapted it for this blog too.

All I did was change the header image. I really like the layout of this theme. It’s clean and not cluttered and the colors go more with an Army Mom blog.

Big Time

The company I work for made the big time in the blogging world. Spirit Halloween has been mentioned on Perez Hilton’s blog.

There was a big to-do about it in the office today. Emails were sent around to everyone with link’s to Hilton’s blog article about the company along with another link to Martha Stewart Radio where the CEO was on Martha’s radio show.

The other day some people from the office participated in the annual Spirit of Children Day where they go to children’s wards in hospitals to bring Halloween to children who would not be able to go trick or treating. They bring costumes and fun things to do. They also raise money for the child life units in local hospitals.

I finally found a new theme for my blog. What do you think? I had to get rid of the Army colors since the Army has pissed of both Andi and I for a long time.

I think the colors are calming and soothing. I just have to fix a couple things but I think I’m quite happy with this one.

On to other things… We are still looking for a place to live. We went to see one today that they want $925 a month for but…. It was the tiniest house I’ve ever seen. I don’t think my stuff would fit in that place. It’s just a little crackerbox house and they’re nuts if they think they’re going to get that much a month for it. It comes with a washer and dryer but no refrigerator and there is another small house, on the same lot, that is less than 5 feet away. Scratch that one off the list.

I’ve been doing a lot of packing and cleaning so as soon as we find a place we can just move on out.

Need to brighten this blog up

I was just sitting here looking at my blog and this theme makes it looks like a cold, dreary winter day. I need to check on some files I have in my online backup and see if I have something a little brighter and cheerier looking.

I need to dump the grays and downer colors for something that will make people smile when they stop by to visit. Something that is warm and reminds us of spring and summer.. not winter. I’m so over winter. We still have tons of snow on the ground and as I go out to the store and stuff I see cars that are so buried in the snow that they probably won’t be able to get those cars out until spring. I’m so done with the white on the ground and the gray of the sky (although the sun is out today.. it won’t last long. They are calling for more snow tonight and tomorrow!)

I’m off to look for something happy for this blog! I hope everyone had a nice Valentine’s Day.

Changes at South Jersey Fun

I was thinking of getting rid of my South Jersey Fun blog but I came up with a new plan for it. I’m going to turn it into my ranting blog. God knows there are plenty of things to rant about in Jersey.

I’ll be ranting about the drivers, the cost of things like gas, acne solutions, the weather and much more. The new name will be South Jersey Fun… NOT! It hasn’t changed yet but I will be doing that later on today.

That poor blog has been through so many changes. It started out as a travel blog then went to a news type blog and now I think I’ve finally found a focus for it… maybe.

Spammers and scammers

Besides comment spam on my blogs and email spam I’ve been getting spam by spammers and scammers using my contact form. I get things like bogus job offers, apidexin scams, and links that I just won’t click on because I’m cautious that way. Who knows if those links contain a virus. I sure don’t want to find out the hard way.

Those all get deleted without a second look just like the spam comments and emails.

I did let one comment through once time because the person commenting said I was whining because my blog gets no traffic and I’m only a PR 3. I really don’t give a hoot if my blog is a PR 10 or a PR 0. I write my blog for my own personal use and not to bring people to it. If people actually read my blog then it’s great. If no one reads it then it’s just fine with me too.

Messed up

My blog has evidently been messed up for awhile now and I was unable to get into my dashboard to fix it. I contacted my host less than an hour ago to see if they could remove the theme that was causing the problem and they took care of it immediately.

Now I need to find either an image for the top that fits my blog or find a new theme. The one you see now is just temporary.

I love my host. I’ve been with them for 2 years and have only had a couple of small problems that they fixed for me right away and I only pay less than $6 a month for hosting.

I’m letting my other blog go away. Earlier I let South Jersey Fun go away and now it’s time to let Charlotte’s Tips go too. It’s due for renewal on April 3rd and I’m not going to renew it. I have to cut more out of my budget and CT has to go.

I had fun writing in it but I haven’t posted anything there since May of last year so it’s time…
