Let the packing begin

We haven’t found a new place to move to yet but I started packing this morning. I figured I should start packing up stuff that I know I won’t be using for awhile.

I have a few boxes and decided to start on my ~~clutter~~ china cabinet. I had the door opened and was taking stuff out, wrapping it and putting it into a box when JoJo jumped up and started taking a stroll through the cabinet… meowing the whole time. If my batteries, for my camera, had been charged I would have taken a picture.

That cabinet hasn’t been opened since I got JoJo so I guess she was curious as to what was in there.. She’s such a goofball.

I heard from Andi this morning too and her and the baby are doing fine and could possibly be going home tomorrow.

Now this is neat!

I was just checking out the things on Sale at Buy.com and I found something that could prove to be very useful. It’s a keychain camera. I don’t know how many times I’ve been out somewhere and saw something and wished I had my camera with me. If I had this I wouldn’t have to worry about having a camera with me all the time.

I can think of so many uses for this. I always have my keys with me so having a camera on the keychain would be so I would never be without my camera. It would be good for taking pictures/videos of people doing stupid stuff on the road or in a store. I could use it if I see something I’d love to have but want to ask hubby about it first. I could show him the picture of it so he’d know what I’m talking about.

If it’s still on sale on Friday, when I get paid, I’m going to order it and give it a try. I’ll only be losing $4.99 if it doesn’t work as expected.

My grandsons love Pirates of the Caribbean and I found something on sale that they would love to have. It’s a really cool Disney digital camera with Pirates of the Caribbean on the front.

It’s a 3 megapixel camera with built in 32 mb of memory and a card slot to expand it to 2 gb. The best part is it’s only $19.99. That’s something I could afford right now. Shipping is free too! That will save a few bucks. It comes with a strap, USB cord and a cord to hook up to the TV to view the pictures. It also comes with Disney Pix software which will allow the boys to add Disney characters, stamps, frames, etc. to their pictures.

Since I may not be returning to my job I have to look for cheap presents for Christmas. Yes.. I need to think about it now and start buying things a little at a time because I won’t be able to buy a lot of things at once. This year I may just have to concentrate on the kids and just give cards to the adults. The economy is really bad anymore.

But back to the grandsons… Andi won’t have any privacy if I get this for the boys. They’ll be constantly taking pictures of her and anything else they can possibly think of.

The Flip Video camera that I ordered came today! I immediately tried it out and I love it. I can actually make videos without having to put every light in the place on. It’s cloudy today so there is no sunlight coming in either. The videos are so much better than the ones my digital camera takes. I can’t take a video with my digital camera unless I have every single light on.

The camera has a USB arm that plugs right into my computer and it loaded the Flip Video software right on to my computer. No discs to lose! The software is great too. You can make movies right from that and even upload them to YouTube, etc. You can also take still pictures from your videos.

At first I thought there was a problem with the camera because I could hear a lot of static in the background when I played the video on my computer. But I found out that I just had the volume too high on my computer.. oops.

This camera takes great videos and is so very easy to use. It came with batteries, a wrist strap and a nice black velvet-like bag to store it in.

I found a digital video camera on sale and I just can’t beat the price anywhere. I have a digital camera that has video capabilities but I’d love to have a separate video camera and this one fits the bill. Unless I have every light on in my condo the videos come out very dark. The Pure Digital Flip Video Ultra has settings for low light (perfect for me), indoor, outdoor and action.

Sometimes I’m asked to do a review that involves a video and a lot of the times I turn them down because of the quality of the videos from my digital camera. I will have to save up some money and invest in one of these digital camcorders. Another reason to get this one from Buy.com is that they have free shipping! Free shipping is always a good thing.

This camera is usually $199 and it’s 55% off so the price I would pay is only $89.99. Now that’s a fantastic deal in my book.

With this camera I can make some videos to send to our kids. It’s even cheap enough I could get them each one so they can send us videos of them and their kids. When Andi and Misty have their babies I’d be able to see them grow in video instead of just photos.

Now all I have to do is save up the money and put in an order. Hopefully I can do that soon.

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween everyone! We had a basically all day Halloween party at work today. The day started off with judges going from office to office picking out the best costume for several different categories. Almost everyone participated, there were a few party poopers who didn’t dress up. The winner of the best costume was a guy who dressed up as one of the Ghostbusters and he even did up his SUV to look the the Ectomobile. The guy even got interviewed by Channel 40 news about his car. Oh.. it played the Ghostbusters theme song too.

Later in the day the employees were allowed to bring in their kids and grandkids for office to office trick or treating. The little ones looked so cute all dressed up in their costumes.

Here is a picture of the Ectomobile and a picture of me as Elvira! (don’t laugh!) I couldn’t take any more pictures than that because, while my camera was on and the lens was zoomed out, I dropped the camera and bent the lens thingy. When I got home hubby looked at the camera and managed to pop the lens thingy back into place! YAY!

I love to take pictures. I take pictures of family, wildlife, and all sorts of things. My camera isn’t a fancy Nikon D90 but it does the job very nicely, when I can keep the camera still.

Last night I made sausage and peppers for dinner and even took picture of that. You can see the pictures over at Charlotte’s Tips. The sausage and peppers were delicious and I can’t wait to make them again. Hubby loved them and I got orders from my son-in-law to be to send him some. He’s just going to have to come up here because I don’t thing the sausage and peppers would travel well.

I saw another wild turkey this morning as I was leaving for work and I didn’t have my camera with me. This thing had to have come up to my waist. I’m 5 ft 6 in tall so that was one big assed bird!

I really should start taking my camera with me where ever I go. Either that or get a camera phone! I wonder if I could find some place that’s giving them away as promotional items? Eh! Probably not but I can dream, can’t I?

Anyway.. I saw the turkey across the parking lot and he was so tall he could look into windows of cars. I decided I’d stay as far away from him as possible! But he sure would feed a large family on Thanksgiving!

I love my camera. It takes great pictures. I currently have a 256 mb card for it and it holds quite a few pictures. I’ve been thinking of getting one that holds more. I found one on sale at Buy.com. It’s a 4gb SD card. This one will hold tons of pictures. It stores so many that I’ll probably go through a couple sets of batteries before this card would fill up. Then I could take more pictures of my goofy daughter, like the one below! (she’ll kill me for posting this… but all I can say to that is )

Andi and the kids left and went home to Texas but before they left we took them to the Adventure Aquarium in Camden and we took lots of pictures. I’ll do another post about the trip and post some more pictures. If I had that card I would have taken lots more pictures. I know the card I currently have will hold at least 150 pictures. I took that many in one day on our trip to Texas last November. I had a laptop with me and I would download the pictures off the card each night to make sure I didn’t run out of room on the card. I’ve never maxed it out.

Didn’t have my camera

I went out to get in my car this morning and when I got to the bottom of the steps I almost ran into a wild turkey! If I had gone back up to get my camera it would have been gone by the time I got back again. I need to start bringing my camera with me wherever I go because I see things that would make good posts. lol

I did get a picture of some wild turkeys that were hanging around the complex last September and did a post about them then. The pictures are at the bottom of that post and if you click on them you’ll get the bigger picture.

I miss a lot of wildlife shots as I’m leaving home or coming home. I missed one of a deer drinking out of the pond next to our building. Here is a picture from Google Earth showing all the woods around our complex. That’s why we get a lot of wildlife coming into the complex. The brown at the bottom of the picture is the woods.
