I decided I wanted to move the living room furniture around a little. I haven’t moved furniture in ages. I did it! I switched the sofa and loveseat positions and now there is more room on the wall the sofa is on and I can now open the sofa bed. While that was open I tried out the bed. It’s actually comfortable and the head raises up for watching TV.

My only problem is the sofa is now too close to my computer desk and I have to move it down but the entertainment center is in the way. The entertainment center is way too heavy for me to move by myself (I tried it and couldn’t budge it). I’ll have to get hubby to help me move it. It only needs to move down about a foot. The way things are now if hubby lays on the sofa to watch TV my computer chair blocks part of the view of the TV.

I still have boxes that have never been unpacked from when I moved in here over 2 years ago. I brought boxes that hadn’t been unpacked from the move before this one. I went though those boxes and threw out a lot of stuff. I found broken pencils, an old box of over the counter diet pills that expired years ago and pieces of paper with phone numbers on them but no names.

Why do we hang on to stuff like that? Oh.. I know why. We all say “maybe I’ll need that some day. I’d better hang on to it.”. That day never comes and we end up with a big mess that we end up throwing out anyway. I’ve been trying to avoid that lately. I look at things and ask myself “do I need this? Do I use it regularly? Do I know anyone who needs it? Is it valuable?”. If I answer no to these questions then out it goes. I’m tired of being a pack rat.

I have a few boxes and decided to start on my <del datetime="2009-08-28T15:32:49+00:00">clutter</del> china cabinet. I had the door opened and was taking stuff out, wrapping it and putting it into a box when JoJo jumped up and started taking a stroll through the cabinet… meowing the whole time. If my batteries, for my camera, had been charged I would have taken a picture.

That cabinet hasn’t been opened since I got JoJo so I guess she was curious as to what was in there.. She’s such a goofball.

I heard from Andi this morning too and her and the baby are doing fine and could possibly be going home tomorrow.

If this winter keeps going the way it has been then hubby and I might be able to move out of this camper soon! I know one thing I need to go shopping for is entertainment centers. Our old one is huge and takes up way too much room. We really don’t need one that big. It’s over 20 years old and just needs to go.

I’d also like to get some nicer living room furniture. The stuff we have I found in the newspaper used. It’s ok but it’s white and it didn’t take long to get dirty. I’d love to get a micro-suede set. They are just so soft and comfortable. That’s what Andi had and I had at my place while she was in Iraq the 1st time. I hated giving that back up to her.

Now all I need to do is find a job and life will be great again.

We were going to get a place with Andi, Drew and the baby but that has changed. Andi is going into the reserves and will be moving about 45 minutes away to be close to where she’ll be stationed. So now we are looking at apartments instead of townhouses.

I really wanted a townhouse because it has a second floor, where the bedrooms are, and the stairs would have made great fat burners especially while getting things unpacked and put away. Last week we took a look around at the complex the apartments and townhouses are in and it looks like a really nice place to live. The apartments are only 2 stories high and if we get one on the second floor we won’t have banging and stomping over our head like we did at the last place.

—————————————————————

Benton (Jake, Booger, Boog – he has many names) is growing like a weed. He’s almost 20 lbs, 8 months old and 28 inches tall (I think). He crawls like a speed demon and runs around in his walker (that looks like a jeep). He pulls himself up and climbs the stairs. He can hold on with just one hand and almost stands by himself.

They have been away in Pennsylvania for the past couple days so I don’t know what new thing the boy has learned while he’s been gone. I’m going to miss him like crazy when they move away. I’m so used to seeing him just about every day. It’s going to be strange.

My sister-in-law had a yard sale on Saturday. She had a lot to sell too. She had furniture, some promotional tote bags from the casinos, housewares, knick knacks and a lot of other stuff. Most of it ended going back in the garage because not a lot of people showed up.

She had it advertised in the paper and on Craig’s list too. She had signs all over the place. It was kind of busy in the morning but once it hit noon there weren’t many customers after that. She was going to keep it open until 2 pm but because it was so slow she closed early. She made over $100 though.

She found a new place to move to and is supposed to move the 1st week in July and sometime after that I’ll be moving in there with Andi, Drew, the baby and Drew’s dad. We just have to get the storage fees paid off and come up with the money for the movers.

If anyone would like to help out and donate something towards getting my furniture moved to my new home I’ll really love you forever! There is a donate button in my sidebar at the top. Any amount will help out greatly. I really hate asking but I’m in a bind here and need to get out of this camper as soon as possible. Thank you!

Because of financial reasons all of my things are STILL in storage where they have been for over a year now. I really miss my stuff. Andi will say she needs something and I always end up saying that I have whatever it is but it’s in storage.

I have just one set of sheets for my bed because I don’t want to and can’t afford to buy any extras and the others I do have are in storage.

I need to either find a job (no luck with that one) or find a way to make a decent amount of money working from home (without falling for scams). I just hate living this way… it’s depressing and that’s not a good thing.

We just have a few more things to pack, mostly kitchen stuff and we’ll be done. We left a few plates and silverware out, along with some pots and pans, so we can eat meals. Everything else either is or will be packed up today.

It seemed like we had more stuff than what we actually have because my sister-in-law left a lot of stuff here. We won’t have many boxes at all and only a few pieces of furniture to move.

In the many moves I’ve done I’ve found some odd things like a receipt showing that cigarettes cost around 30 cents a pack (that was in the late 60′s), old newspapers showing ads for clothing and stuff. I was so surprised at the prices. I saw a dress for $2.50.

When my kids were younger I’d find trash in their boxes that they packed, broken toys and stuff that just should have been thrown out.

I’ve learned to throw out things before packing so I don’t have to throw stuff out when I unpack.
