Weather has been so nice

Today the temperature got up to 63 degrees!! WooHoo… come on Spring! It was nice enough for hubby to get a few minor rv repairs done to the camper after work. Soon it will stay lighter longer because of the time change coming up.

I can’t wait for everything to green up and the flowers to start blooming. I just LOVE Spring.. it’s my favorite time of the year.

We are supposed to get some precipitation this weekend but it’s not going to be that nasty, 4 letter S-word that we’ve had so much of this winter!! I hope we’ve seen the last of that stuff for a good long time!

Bring it on warmth! I’m ready for you!!

Been missing

I haven’t run off to some Outer Banks vacation rentals because I couldn’t afford to do that right now. Depression and other life things have kept me away from blogging too much.

Internet connection problems keep me offline quite a bit and it’s doing good today so I’m trying to get some postings done before it goes all wonky again.

The weather here has been very depressing with a ton of snow, some rain and a lot of cloudy skies. Today is bright and sunny and the temperature is supposed to get up to almost 50! I hope the snow is gone until next winter. I’m so tired of seeing white. Well.. it’s kind of dirty white now.. yuk!

I had a job interview on Friday.. I’m hoping that goes well. I have everything crossed that I can cross because I really want to work at this place (I’ve worked there before).

Right now I have to get dressed, go to the store and come back and start changing my other blog.

Need to brighten this blog up

I was just sitting here looking at my blog and this theme makes it looks like a cold, dreary winter day. I need to check on some files I have in my online backup and see if I have something a little brighter and cheerier looking.

I need to dump the grays and downer colors for something that will make people smile when they stop by to visit. Something that is warm and reminds us of spring and summer.. not winter. I’m so over winter. We still have tons of snow on the ground and as I go out to the store and stuff I see cars that are so buried in the snow that they probably won’t be able to get those cars out until spring. I’m so done with the white on the ground and the gray of the sky (although the sun is out today.. it won’t last long. They are calling for more snow tonight and tomorrow!)

I’m off to look for something happy for this blog! I hope everyone had a nice Valentine’s Day.

Yesterday was a busy day

Yesterday was cleaning day. I went to the laundromat then stopped at Shoprite, CVS, Ace Hardware and Wawa. The funny thing is I didn’t have to travel very far between those stores. They are all at an intersection.. 1 store on each corner.

I picked up a couple things at Shoprite then went to CVS and struck out (I was looking for Tea Tree Oil and couldn’t find any there). Next stop was Ace Hardware where I picked up a couple cans of “canned air” to blow the dust out my electronics. Then I went to WaWa to get my breakfast sandwich and a couple other things.

After all that I came home and blew the dust out of my computer tower and our two space heaters. Then I had to clean up the dust from that stuff so I dragged out the vacuum and the disinfectant cleaner and washed the floor. I put the laundry away and took a well deserved break.

Today I cleaned the windows. I usually don’t do windows often but living in this camper they get dirty quick. I have to clean them about every 2 weeks.

With all the snow still on the ground and what isn’t snow covered is muddy a lot of crap gets dragged in here on our shoes so I have to shake out the throw rugs and sweep the floor just about every day. That’s the next thing on my agenda for today after I get off this computer.

The day after

Hubby is out plowing again. He came home about 8:30 or so last night and went out again about 8 am. It’s now 1:30pm and he’s still out there.

I went out and cleaned off my car but that was as far as I could get. I can’t get to the drivers side of the car because of all of the snow and I don’t have a shovel. Hubby still has to finish plowing the driveway right behind my car so I can get it out. I’m glad I have enough stuff to last another day or two.

Enjoy the day after pictures below. The 1st 3 are the neighbors from yesterday… the 2 kids and parents. They built a snow fort out of snow and in the last one they built a snow slide. Now that looked like fun!

The ones below are from today when I was out cleaning off my car. A few show the camper covered in ice and the one showing the sky and trees. If you look closely at the trees you can see the snow blowing. I thought that was a neat shot!

Blizzard 2010

We are getting a blizzard. There is at least a foot of snow on the ground.. probably more (I didn’t go out to measure it). I got as far as opening the door and sticking the camera out to take some pictures. Enjoy the snow… I’m sure not! lol

Crazy times

We have a blizzard warning for later today through Saturday night and people are going crazy buying up everything in sight. We could have up to 2 feet of snow! Shoprite is jam packed and there isn’t a parking space to be found. Their POS systems must be going at a record rate.

I needed to go there today but decided to stay away. I’m not going into that store and fight all those people for 1 thing. JoJo is getting low on her food but I think there just might be enough to last through the weekend. If not I do have a can or two of canned food I can give her. I’m glad I got food on Tuesday!

Buried

We got buried under over 12 inches of snow yesterday and last night. We still have a few snow showers here and there and yesterday we even had thundersnow!

Andi’s boyfriend is going to come over and clear off my car and dig it out. They need to use the car to go to Pennsylvania today. I would do it but my boots are in storage and all I have to wear are a light pair of sneakers!

Hubby is out plowing and has been since early yesterday morning. He did get home about 3:30 am this morning and got a couple hours sleep but he was back at it about 6:30 this morning.

These pictures are a huge difference from the pictures in the post a couple posts down.

That was fun.. NOT!

I went out and cleaned off about 11 inches of snow off of my car. It took me about 45 minutes to do that. By the time I got done my hands were wet and frozen and I was wearing gloves. Luckily I backed into my parking space on Sunday and didn’t have any trouble getting out. Hubby had cleared the snow from in front of the car and by the drivers side too. By the time I was done clearing off the car the snow, at the back of the car, came up to my knees!

When I left for WaWa someone was in the parking lot plowing out the empty spaces and when I got back my space was nice and cleared off. It’s now just 16 degrees outside and a bit windy still. I wore a hooded sweatshirt under my jacket and used the hood to keep my head warm.

I got home and decided to do a bit of window shopping online and found something that I really need on sale at Buy.com. It’s a little light that I can attach to my desk. I don’t have a lamp or a lot of light at my desk. It’s darker now that I have my new desk & hutch top. I can attach it under the shelf that’s above my monitor and will give me light at night. It was only $7.99 for 2 lights. Fantastic deal if you ask me!

This light uses LEDs and detaches so it can be used as a flashlight. This will be very handy. I ordered it and I get free shipping and I saved $22.00. There are 2 of these lights in the package. I’m sure I’ll find a use for the 2nd one.

I just love these weekly deals that Buy.com offers. This is my 5th purchase from them and so far I haven’t had and problems with anything I’ve ordered from them.

Snow, snow, snow

Kris made it home early this morning. He managed to get back on the road and after just a few miles he ran out of the snow and into rain.

It’s still snowing here. The schools are closed. It’s windy and the snow is blowing and drifting. Hubby is still out plowing. He’s been out all night.

I got outside just before 8am and took some pictures and a video. There is over 6 inches on the ground.. probably closer to 8 inches. I didn’t take a ruler to measure, but you can see it in the video. The parking lot hasn’t been plowed yet and the walkways haven’t been shoveled yet either.

I won’t be going out anywhere today. I’ll just stay inside and watch the pretty whiteness from the warmth of my living room while watching all the weather reports from my TV on my tv stand! Enjoy the video.
