I’ve never been in a store when the electric goes out and I wonder what happens to their POS systems. Does that stop working too? Is there some sort of backup?

What happens to the people who have started checking out when the electric goes off or if they started to pay and the authorization hadn’t completed yet? Do they still get to take what they “paid” for or what?

I’m glad I never had to find out. It has to be a huge hassle for the customers and employees.

I love to shop online. It’s so much easier and less stressful than going to a brick and mortar store. I’m not able to do much shopping either way right now but when I do I love to have a coupon. I love to get money off and find a great deal too.

I’d like to get a new Kodak printer because they use less ink and their ink cartridges are so much cheaper than the Epson all in one printer I have now. I found some tiger direct coupons online and will see if they have the printer I’m interested in. If I can’t find that printer there I’m sure I can find a USB drive that I’d like to have. I need some kind of external storage other than a CD.

As I said in my previous post I bought new jeans and they must have changed the sizing of clothes since I last bought any. I’m just glad I tried them on at the store and didn’t just pick up a size 10 or I’d be heading back to the store again to do an exchange.

It makes me feel like I dropped 4 clothing sizes all without using any fitness equipment to achieve that! I have size 6 jeans sitting in storage that I know I can’t wear because I bought them moons ago when I weighed about 125 lbs. I don’t weigh 125 anymore and will probably not see that weight again. But with the new sizing I almost feel like I weigh 125 again.

We have a blizzard warning for later today through Saturday night and people are going crazy buying up everything in sight. We could have up to 2 feet of snow! Shoprite is jam packed and there isn’t a parking space to be found. Their POS systems must be going at a record rate.

I needed to go there today but decided to stay away. I’m not going into that store and fight all those people for 1 thing. JoJo is getting low on her food but I think there just might be enough to last through the weekend. If not I do have a can or two of canned food I can give her. I’m glad I got food on Tuesday!

When I got into work this morning I had an email stating that one of our stores had been canceled. I got busy and checked what utilities had to be disconnected and it was just the phone. The rest of the utilities stayed in the landlord’s name. I’m sure the employees had gotten their Delsey luggage packed up and were headed home.

I put in the disconnect for the phone and did all the paperwork for the canceled store. Then about 4:30 this afternoon comes another email stating the store got a reprieve and was now back on the list! We have never had a store come back from the grave like that. I had to scramble to cancel the disconnect for the phone. Luckily, the disconnect wasn’t scheduled to happen until tomorrow and it was canceled.

There’s never a dull moment in the Spirit Halloween office!
